I grew up on a farm in the Midwest. Besides farming, my family has taken every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. This exposed me, at an early age, to upland hunting and bird dogs.
I have fond memories of one of our dogs in particular. A lab we named Kizzy. Kizzy was given to us by friends who were fellow hunters. To our amazement we quickly realized that Kizzy preferred the point over flushing. This was my first chance exposure to the world of pointing labs, and I do not think there is anything better.
Our dogs are talented hunters; quartering the field, trailing scent and holding game with solid, steady points.
We hunt our dogs on a variety of game: pheasant, quail, chukar, duck, geese and dove. Throughout all of our hunts in Texas, Louisiana and Iowa; they have been a constant source of pride.
Our dogs compete in The American Pointing Labrador Association, AKC Hunt Tests/Field Trials and UKC Hunt Tests. I handle and train all of our dogs. I have judged for HRC events and served as AKC Secretary and Vice President for the Coastal Bend Retriever Club. I have also trained service dogs for the handicap through CCI. I have high standards for my breeding program. I only breed quality dogs that are talented in the field and respectful in the home.
Congratulations to our 1.5 X GMPR HR Schwar Points South Turnin Trix JH "Trixie" for receiving her Grand Master title and our 3.5 GMPR HR Points South Blue Bonnet Betty JH SH "Betty" for receiving her 3.5 GMPR title in consecutive passes. She and her partner Mrs. Knutson have made a phenominal team. What stellar performances they had! We are proud of both of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Betty is now competing for her AKC MH title she has 4/4 passes needs 1 more for title.
An Exceptional December litter is planned with two talented, natural Pointing Labs. This will be a repeat breeding. Both are cherished family companions.
